Top Guns Fitness ("Top Guns," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Top Guns Nutrition mobile app (the "App"), which coach Abbey uses to build and assign nutrition plans, and clients use to log meals and track adherence. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App collects, how it's used, who can see it, and the choices you have.
By creating an account or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.
1. Information We Collect
The App is invite-only: clients join after being invited by their coach. We collect:
- Account information — your name, email address, and role (coach or client). Passwords are handled by our authentication provider (Supabase) and are never stored by us in plain text.
- Health-related information — medical conditions and dietary considerations (e.g. "Type 2 diabetes," "high cholesterol") that you or your coach add to your profile, used solely to tailor nutrition guidance.
- Meal logs — foods you log (via search or our food database), quantities, timestamps, and the resulting calorie/macro data.
- Meal photos — if you use photo logging, the photo you capture or choose is uploaded to estimate nutritional content. You always review and confirm (or edit) the estimate before it's saved — nothing is scored automatically from a photo.
- Messages — broadcasts and private notes exchanged between you and your coach within the App.
- Progress and gamification data — adherence scores, streaks, points, and badges, calculated from your logging activity.
- Push notification tokens — a device identifier used only to deliver reminders and coach messages, if you enable notifications.
We do not collect precise location, contacts, or browsing activity outside the App.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide the core coaching service: building and assigning nutrition plans, calculating targets, and measuring eaten-vs-prescribed adherence.
- To enable messaging between you and your coach.
- To generate AI-assisted estimates and drafts — meal-photo nutrition estimates and draft coach recommendations are generated with the help of third-party AI models (see Section 4) but are always shown to a human (you or your coach) for review and confirmation before being saved or sent. Nothing in the App is a substitute for professional medical advice (see Section 8).
- To operate, secure, and improve the App.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.
3. Who Can See Your Information
- Your coach can see your logged meals, photos, medical conditions you've shared, adherence data, and messages — this visibility is the core purpose of the App and is enforced by database-level access rules, not just app-level checks.
- Other clients cannot see your data. Each client's information is isolated from every other client.
- Top Guns Fitness staff may access account data as needed to provide support or maintain the service.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We use a small number of service providers ("sub-processors") to operate the App. We don't sell data to them — they process it on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms:
- Supabase — database hosting, authentication, and private file storage for the App.
- USDA FoodData Central — public food-nutrition lookups. Only your search terms are sent; no personal or account information.
- Google Gemini API — meal photos you submit for photo logging may be sent to Google's Gemini model to estimate nutritional content. Google's own privacy terms govern that processing.
- Expo / Apple Push Notification service — used only to deliver push notifications you've opted into.
5. Data Retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you or your coach close your account, we delete your personal data immediately, except where we're required to keep it longer by law.
6. Your Rights and Choices
- You can ask us or your coach to access, correct, or delete your personal data at any time.
- You can disable push notifications from your device's Settings at any time.
- You can request an export of your data by contacting us (Section 10).
7. Data Security
We use database-level row-level security so each client's data is isolated from other clients, private storage with signed, time-limited URLs for meal photos, and encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) between the App and our servers. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
8. Not Medical Advice
The App is a nutrition-coaching and tracking tool. Nothing in the App — including AI-generated estimates or draft recommendations — is medical advice or a substitute for care from a licensed healthcare provider. Always consult a qualified professional before making medical or dietary decisions related to a health condition.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the App.
